READ.ID – Karawo Carnival Gorontalo 2019 which will be held on October 6th, 2019 is certainly more lively. This Tourism Event, which entered the 100th National Tourism Calendar, will be filled with a sequence of events from Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 to its peak on Sunday, October 6th.
“If Karawo Carnival Gorontalo is usually only filled with one event, then this year there will be another sequence of events that support the peak of the event,” explained the Head of Gorontalo Province Tourism Office, Rifli Katili, in the Karawo Carnival Gorontalo 2019 Press Conference, held at the Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Gorontalo on the previous Friday (9/8/2019).
The Karawo Carnival Gorontalo 2019 will begin with Mokarawo on October 2nd, 2019 that will be held at the Grand Palace Convention Center. The Mokarawo event, or embroidering the typical Gorontalo cloth, is expected to be the event for the karawo designers to show their creative designs of karawo.
“Then on October 3rd, 2019 there will be The Karawo Fashion Contest. This is an event for designers who have a passion for exhibiting their creations. So there will be a fashion show contest presented by the models, and we will are holding the competition.”, added Rifli.
October 4th, 2019 will be filled with a contest to slice and embroider karawo or named Mokarawo Traditional Handmade will be held at Belle li Mbui. This event involves the small-medium enterprise (SME) to assess the extent of their creativity and innovation.
On October 5th, 2019, the Celebes Tourism Meeting will be held. The forum which is planned to be attended by the Minister of Tourism and the Governors of Sulawesi, is expected to produce recommendations for the development of Sulawesi tourism in the future.
“Besides, this is also something new in the Karawo Festival, there will be the Gorontalo Culinary Expo, which shows typical food of Gorontalo from October 4 – 6. This event not only features the culinary arts, but there will also be musical and artistic attractions from various communities.”, he concluded.
